HOUSTON – The KPRC 2 weather team continues to track a strong front that is bringing the chance for severe weather today -thunderstorms, hail and even gusty winds of 50 mph are a possibility.
Right now, the Houston metro area is a 2 out of 5 for severe weather. Our team will bring you coverage of the storms throughout the day so that you and your family is safe.
This comes as the National Weather Service in Houston issued a Tornado Watch for parts of Texas and Louisiana through 9 p.m. Saturday.
While the threat of flooding is low, there is still a chance that some stronger, isolated storms could flood some spots. When the cooler air and the warm air clash, it can spark intense storms, which could produce heavy downpours on our saturated soil, heightening our flood risk today.
