HOUSTON – The Texans worked out former New York Jets running back La’Mical Perine and former New England Patriots defensive back D’Angelo Ross, according to a league source.
Perine, 24, is a former Jets fourth-round draft pick from Florida.
Perine (5-11, 216 pounds) has rushed for 263 yards and two touchdowns and has 11 catches for 63 yards.
After being released by the Jets in August, he was signed to the Eagles’ practice squad and was cut Sept. 7.
Ross was with the Miami Dolphins this year and was waived-injured and placed on injured reserve before being released.
He signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of New Mexico.
He has played in three career games for New England with one start and had three tackles.
