Texans waive former Patriots starting guard Sidy Sow

Texans released former Patriots guard Sidy Sow (AP , KPRC 2)

HOUSTON – The Texans waived former New England Patriots starting offensive guard Sidy Sow, a sign of their upgraded depth across the interior offensive line.

Sow started one game against the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, but was quickly replaced in the lineup.

The Texans have several interior offensive linemen, including Wyatt Teller, Jake Andrews, Keylan Rutledge, Ed Ingram, Evan Brown, Febechi Nwaiwu and Jarrett Patterson.

Sow was signed to a reserve-future deal this offseason.

He has played in 28 career games.

The Canada native is a former Patriots fourth-round draft pick from Eastern Michigan where he was an All-Mid-American Conference selection.
