HOUSTON – The Texans have signed sixth-round safety Jaylen Reed to a four-year, $4.95 million contract, per a league source.
Reed receives a $243,800 signing bonus.
Reed is a 6-foot, 211-pound second-team All-Big Ten Conference selection from Penn State.
He has run the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds with a 1.51 10-yard split and a 33 1/2 inch vertical leap.
Reed intercepted three passes last season and recorded 98 tackles with three passes defensed and one forced fumble.
Two seasons ago, he had 46 tackles and two interceptions.
