“It was an amazing experience to come here and share some positivity and use my platform to just give back,” Ward told KPRC 2. “You never know. Moments like this can change people’s lives. I want to encourage all the kids here to keep fighting and there’s people out there that love you and care about you.

“Being able to put a smile on a kid’s face, it goes a long way. Not only for the kids, but the parents. They’re going through a tough time. Hard times doesn’t last. Just adorable, just kids. Having an amazing time.”

Both players got a whipped cream pie in the face from the kids as part of the visit.

“Just the opportunity to put a smile on kids’ faces, we all know they’re going through some tough times,” Perryman said. “Just put a smile on a kid’s face. Just have an impact on somebody’s life. Just keep fighting.”
