HOUSTON – The Texans are signing veteran offensive tackle David Sharpe to a two-year contract, according to a league source.

Sharpe is set to be a swing tackle behind Laremy Tunsil and Tytus Howard.

Sharpe, 28, is a former Raiders fourth-round draft pick from the University of Florida.

He played last season for the Carolina Panthers.

Sharpe (6-foot-6, 346 pounds), has also played for the Washington football team and has also played for the Baltimore Ravens.

He has played in 45 career games with six starts.

He was signed to the Panthers’ practice squad last season before being promoted to the active roster. He played in six games last season.
