Arch Manning, known for being the most sought-out quarterback in the past year, has verbally committed to the University of Texas.
Manning, who is the nephew of both Peyton and Eli Manning, shared his decision on social media on Thursday with the words, “Committed to the University of Texas” as his first social media post.
Manning is the grandson of Archie Manning and nephew of both Peyton and Eli. Archie Manning is a former Houston Oiler and two-time Pro Bowler. Peyton Manning was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021, won two Super Bowls, and is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks of all time. And Eli Manning also had a lengthy and successful NFL career, with two Super Bowl rings. Manning’s father, Cooper, was a receiver at Ole Miss.
This latest version from the Manning family tree has thrown for 72 touchdowns and almost 6,000 yards in his first three years at New Orleans’ Isidore Newman High School, according to ESPN. Manning’s high school teammate, tight end/H-back Will Randle, also committed to the Longhorns earlier this week.
Manning chose UT in Texas over colleges such as Georgia, Ole Miss, and Alabama over the last few months.
According to NFL.com, Arch intentionally stayed out of the spotlight as a way to protect his recruitment process.
All current commitments are verbal and non-binding until the student-athlete signs, with the early signing period for the Class of 2023 coming in December.
