HOUSTON – The Dynamo's longtime franchise leader Brian Ching will rejoin the orange nation after a brief and unhappy stint with the expansion Montreal Impact.
Wednesday morning, MLS sources told KPRC both sides were far apart on any deal for Ching and the trade but the day saw progress and Wednesday night a deal was in place and good to go.
"We were surprised, but we are working into the night to wrap it up," Dynamo President Chris Canetti told KPRC-TV in Houston.
If things go as planned there's a chance Brian could be at practice Thursday.
Ching has been unavailable for comment during the negotiation process. He was unhappy about being left unprotected and then taken in the expansion draft by Montreal.
Ching was slated to earn $450,000 on his contract this year.
