Houston Newsmakers Mar. 20: Neil Bush on Fight Against Illiteracy and Donald Trump

Ron Reynolds proclaims innocence, says he will be re-elected

“I will not support Donald Trump under any circumstances,” proclaimed Neil Bush, the brother and son of two former Presidents. Bush is a guest on Houston Newsmakers with Khambrel Marshall and says he is supporting Ted Cruz for president because of the perceived danger of a Trump presidency. “Donald Trump does not represent the best values of the United States of America,” Bush said. “He does not. Our country is the greatest country on the face of the planet in spite of what he says.”

Bush is very opinionated about all aspects of the Republican Presidential Primary. It’s not a program you’ll want to miss. Bush is also co-founder and co-Director of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation.

ALSO

Julie Baker Finck, Ph.D is the President of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. March is Read out Aloud Month and Finck says the simple act of reading aloud to child for 15 minutes a day can make a huge difference in their success. “For very young children, even from birth, reading aloud helps them develop strong oral language skills,” she said. “It helps them understand how to put words together and hopefully build that sense of love for reading.”  More information about the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation and the upcoming 22nd annual Celebration of Reading at the Hobby Center on April 21.

AND

State Representative Ron Reynolds (D) Dist 27, was convicted on misdemeanor barratry charges last year and sentenced to one year in prison and fined $25,000. He is appealing that conviction while out on bail and received 48% of the votes in the primary election on March 1. He now will be forced to beat Angelique Bartholomew in the May run off. He tells Khambrel Marshall he is confident he will do so.
