2 arrested in Seguin after woman says she was kidnapped from Katy and sexually assaulted

The two suspects, also from the Katy area, are charged with trafficking and aggravated sexual assault

SEGUIN, Texas – Two people have been arrested and charged after police in Seguin say a woman told them the pair kidnapped her from the Katy area and sexually assaulted her.

The Seguin Police Department says officers responded to a welfare concern call at 12:47 a.m. on Wednesday where a 26-year-old woman was screaming for help. Officers were able to find the woman at a nearby home.

Police say the woman told officers she had been kidnapped from the Katy area and was sexually assaulted by two individuals.

Officers were able to locate the suspects, Brian Smith, 26, and Haiyan Lee, 25, also from the Katy area. Both of them are charged with aggravated sexual assault and trafficking of a person.

They were transported to the Guadalupe County Jail and are being held on a $1 million bond for each charge.

The investigation remains active.
