Notorious Houston Avenue bridge struck by oversized truck for first time in 2026

The Houston Avenue bridge that has long been a subject of discussion among Houstonians has been hit by an oversized truck for the first time in 2026.

The incident was first reported shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday by HCSO Roadway Management officials.

The controversial bridge was reportedly hit more than 70 times during the 2025 calendar year alone.
