HOUSTON – Investigators were working to determine if alcohol was a factor in a crash that killed a bicyclist in North Houston.
Police said a driver in a pickup truck was traveling on Sweetwater Lane and West Gulf Bank Road at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday.
They said the driver hit two people riding bicycles in the middle of the road.
The other was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the pickup remained at the scene.
“The driver of that vehicle is cooperating with our investigation. We don’t have indication as to what may have led up to this, other than the fact that this road is a really dark roadway,” said Sgt. Barrow.
