1 dead after being hit by vehicle in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – An investigation is underway after Houston police said a driver hit and killed a person and fled the scene Thursday evening.

Officers responded to reports of an auto-pedestrian crash in the 2300 block of Bissonnet Street around 7 p.m.

A woman was found dead, and the driver of the vehicle that hit her fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

Houston police are now searching for that driver.
