1 found dead in Rice Military house fire, cause under investigation

HOUSTON, Texas – One person is deadly following a house fire in the Rice Military neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Houston Fire Department responded to the house fire located in the 5400 block of Flyod Street.

This morning, HFD is on scene of a deadly house fire in the 5400 block of Floyd St. in the Rice Military neighborhood. Conditions on the property made for an intense burn and challenging access to the home. HFD Arson will work to determine where and how the fire started. pic.twitter.com/jTSTo4irJR

HFD said the conditions on the property made for an intense burn and left firefighters with the challenge of accessing the home.

It’s not clear how the fire started, but HFD arson investigators are working to determine the cause.

The identity of the person who died has also not been released.
