During Houston’s devastating windstorm last Thursday evening, Martinez, 31, was tragically killed trying to move her vehicle when a tree crashed on top of it.

She was one of 8 Houstonians who died during the storm and leaves behind four sons, aged 12, 10, 8, and 1. Family members tell KPRC 2 digital producer Ahmed Humble they have been scrambling to raise funds for the baby as well as funeral expenses to lay Martinez to rest.

“Our hearts are saddened by the loss of our beloved Christin,” the plate sale’s flyer reads. “She was a daughter, sister, wife, and wonderful mother to her four sons: Jack, Mason, Anakin and Myles.”
