It’s starting to get real.
We’ve had a lot of signs this week that the 2024 Summer Olympics is getting closer. The Team USA Media Summit was held this week in New York City, where KPRC 2′s Keith Garvin and Daniella Guzman got to interview some high-profile athletes.

On Tuesday, the ceremonial flame was lit at the birthplace of the Olympic games in Greece. And on Wednesday we hit a big countdown number: 100 days until the Olympic Games in Paris.

SOME OTHER KEY DATES TO MARK ON YOUR CALENDAR
Many athletes still have to compete in trials before even learning if they will qualify for the 2024 Games. The swimming trials will be held June 15-23 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The diving trials will be held June 16-23 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Then, The track and field trials will be held June 21-30 in Eugene, Oregon.
Finally, the gymnastics trials will be held June 27-30 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
COMPETITION DATES FOR MOST POPULAR EVENTS
Gymnastics will take place between July 27 and August 5.
Track and field events will be held between August 1 and August 11.
Followed by Swimming competitions from July 27 through August 4.
In the new Olympic sport Breaking, B-Boys and B-Girls, will battle on August 9 and 10.
