Innocent bystander shot in backside during apartment gunfire in Southeast Houston

HOUSTON – A man was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after investigators say he was shot in the rear-end in southeast Houston.

Houston Police Department officers were called to the scene in the 7800 block of Tierwester near the 610 loop after more than 30 shots were fired.

When police arrived they found bullet holes in multiple cars and apartments, as well as shell casings.

Police say it appears that several suspects were shooting it out in the neighborhood and an innocent bystander was shot in the backside during the gunfire. The victim was said to be in stable condition and taken to a nearby trauma center.

The case is under investigation, police said.
