Montgomery woman kills man after alleged kidnapping, drugging

GILLESPIE COUNTY, Texas – A Montgomery woman shot and killed a man who allegedly kidnapped her.

At 12:42 p.m. on March 15, police in Gillespie County responded to a 911 call from a woman who said she was kidnapped and drugged, and she had shot her kidnapper in a car. Her whereabouts were unknown for a short time, until she was confirmed to be near a winery in the 10800 block of East US Highway 290.

The woman was able to describe the vehicle she was in and the weapon she used. Police found the vehicle sitting in the outside lane of westbound traffic. A dead man was in the front seat.

The man in the vehicle was later identified to be 49-year-old Lance Damon Reid, who resided in the Houston area.

Law enforcement gathered evidence around the scene, and the woman was taken to a nearby hospital and interviewed by investigators.

The investigation surrounding this situation is ongoing, per the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office.
