The woman said she was scared and left the house with one of the couple’s five dogs.

When deputies got to the house on N. Diamondhead Boulevard, they found one dog dead in the backyard, stuffed in a plastic bag.

Two more dogs inside the house were shot but alive and another dog was safe inside a cage by the front of the house.

Jared Marshall told the officers he did it because he thought the dogs would just be too much to handle once he’d left the house, Pct. 3 said.

Deputies said they found the gun Marshall used in the living room.

He’s in the Harris County jail charged with cruelty to non-livestock, which is a 3rd degree felony.
