Gov. Greg Abbott held a news conference on Tuesday to provide an update on the efforts to contain the Smokehouse Creek Fire and other wildfires in Texas.

The Smokehouse Creek Fire has burned almost 1.1. million acres in the Texas Panhandle. The blaze has burned crops, killed thousands of livestock and destroyed structures.
