Man and woman found dead at west Harris County home in likely murder-suicide

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said a man and woman were found dead at a home in west Harris County Sunday.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the two were found at the home located in the 24100 block of Eagle Sage Lane. This is in west Harris County near Katy.

According to Gonzalez, deputies were called out to the home around 6:30 p.m. in reference to a possible disturbance. When they entered the home, they found the man and woman dead in a rear bedroom.

Gonzalez said it is believed the two were married and it appears the man shot the woman before turning the gun on himself as a gun was found next to his body.

Gonzalez said there had been a call earlier in the day from the couple’s adult daughter, who lived in the home with them. Deputies came to the home for that call as well. When they arrived, they checked around the property and tried calling the daughter back after getting no response at the door. The deputies were unable to reach her and seeing no vehicles or hearing any sounds at the home, they left.

The daughter called back later around 6:30 p.m. to report the second disturbance and said she heard gunshots. That is when deputies responded and found the two in the home.

Gonzalez said it doesn’t appear that there has been any calls for disturbances at the home in the past.

The investigation continues.
