2 dead in Angleton shooting, suspect arrested

ANGLETON, Texas – Two people died in a shooting in Angleton, Texas on Monday, according to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspected shooter, 35-year-old Bradley Jones, was also arrested.

Angleton police and other law enforcement were dispatched to the scene in the 900 block of South Velasco Street around 8:20 a.m. due to reports of an active shooter. The shooter is no longer active.

When officers arrived, they found two people who had been injured.

Jones fled from the scene. The two victims were flown to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Jones was found and arrested the same day.

Highway 288B from Highway 35 to Dwyer has been reopened since the incident.
