HOUSTON – A house caught on fire in northeast Houston on Tuesday, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Firefighters had initially said people might be trapped in the house, and they later said no one was stuck.

The fire was reported in the 3200 block of Retta Street around 10:38 a.m.

According to the 84-year-old homeowner’s son, the homeowner is nearly blind.

The son told fire officials he stepped outside to grab lunch when the fire started.

Firefighters have not confirmed what caused the blaze.
