HOUSTON – A person was stabbed to death in downtown Houston early Monday morning.

The incident took place in the 500 block of Fannin Street near Prarire at around 3:30 a.m.

According to the Houston Police Department, units arrived at the scene and found a person with a stab wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect later led officers on a chase before they were able to take them into custody.

The cause of the stabbing is unknown.
