Several families left without homes after 2-alarm fire destroys apartment complex in north Harris Co.

HOUSTON – A fire has destroyed multiple units at an apartment complex in north Harris County.

The fire broke out Tuesday night around 11:50 p.m. at an apartment off of Ella Boulevard near Rankin Road.

Fire officials said that between 8-12 units were destroyed by the flames. They also determined that the fire “originated in the attic space of the leasing office due to an electrical/mechanical failure.”

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from multiple agencies were called to help with the fire, which lasted about 90 minutes. The American Red Cross was also on the scene, helping those displaced families.
