Man in custody after shooting at Pct. 4 deputies in north Harris Co.

A 24-year-old man is now in custody after he allegedly shot at a Precinct 4 deputy early Thursday morning.

The shooting took place at The Augusta North Houston Apartments off Kuykendahl near Rankin in North Harris County

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect fired five to six shots at authorities who were responding to another shots fired call.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they said they saw two men arguing and then the men started to run away.

Deputies reportedly chased them and that’s when one of the men, who was wearing a “security guard” shirt, fired the shots toward deputies.

He then disappeared into an apartment unit somewhere inside the complex. Precinct 4 called HCSO SWAT team for backup and began looking for the suspect.

They were able to locate and arrest the suspect who admitted he was the shooter.

The shooter has been charged with attempted capital murder of a police officer.
