Lanes reopened after overturned 18-wheeler causes fuel leak on I-45 near Telephone

HOUSTON – Clean-up is underway after an 18-wheeler reportedly crashed and began leaking fuel on the Gulf Freeway.

The crash was reported around 2:02 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound main lanes and feeder road of I-45 near Wayside and Telephone Road.

Officials said the 18-wheeler crashed and then began leaking fuel onto the freeway and feeder lanes.

It is unclear what caused the crash.

The condition of the driver remains unknown.

Hazmat crews with the Houston Fire Department are at the scene for cleanup and have since reopened the roadway.
