Gas line rupture shuts down FM 2218 in Fort Bend County

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A gas line has ruptured in the Rosenberg area of Fort Bend County, shutting down a portion of FM 2218.

According to the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal’s Office, the Hazmat team and the Rosenberg Fire Department were working the scene.

It is unclear what caused the gas line to rupture.

Officials said that FM 2218 is completely closed between Bryan Road and Koeblen.

The roadway is expected to be closed for an extended length of time.

Authorities are asking people to avoid the area and take an alternate route.
