Harris County district court judge arrested in Galveston on family violence charge

GALVESTON, Texas – A Harris County district court judge was arrested in Galveston and is facing charges connected to family violence.

Frank Aguilar, the 228th District Court judge in Harris County, was arrested early Sunday morning. He is charged with assault causes bodily injury/family violence.

The incident reportedly happened in the 9600 block of Teichman Road. Aguilar has reportedly since been released from jail on a $1,500 bond.

Details on what Aguilar is accused of doing are limited at this time.

Aguilar was previously charged with assaulting a woman he was dating in 2010, but a Harris County jury later found him not guilty of the offense.
