$1M bond set for teen accused in Friendswood shooting that left another teen dead

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – An 18-year-old has died after a shooting in Friendswood Saturday and investigators are working to enhance the charges against a 17-year-old suspect.

According to the Friendswood Police Department, Connor Hilton, 17, of Friendswood has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. His bond was set at $600,000, however, the Friendswood Police Department said the Galveston County District Attorney has increased Hilton’s bond to $500,000 for each of the charges, making his new bond $1 million.

Police said they received a call at approximately 8:51 p.m. Saturday for gunshots in the area of the 1800 block of La Salle Street. When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds.

Both the men were taken to an area hospital.

Sunday evening, the Friendswood Police Department said one of the two who were shot, Ethan Riley, 18, of Friendswood, died from his injuries.

The department said the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office and investigators were working to enhance the charges against Hilton.

The other person who was shot remains in the hospital in critical condition.
