Spring ISD teacher placed on administrative leave after allegedly giving melatonin gummies to several students

SPRING, Texas – A teacher with the Spring Independent School District has been placed on administrative leave for allegedly giving melatonin gummies to several students.

According to a statement from the district, a staff member at The International School at Salyers is believed to have administered the gummies on Dec. 6.

The teacher was removed from the classroom and placed on administrative leave, pending an ongoing investigation from campus administration.

“The district takes every allegation of educator misconduct seriously, and will take all measures necessary to ensure that our students are educated in a safe and nurturing environment,” a spokesperson for Spring ISD stated.

The district has not said what grade the students are in. KPRC 2 will provide more updates on this incident as they become available.
