‘It just breaks my heart’: Houston hairstylist’s mobile hair salon for special needs children stolen in Katy

KATY, Texas – A local hairstylist who offers haircuts to children with special needs in a mobile salon had her trailer stolen in the Katy area on Monday.

The owner of Miss Dee and Friends, known only as Miss Dee, shared videos explaining the incident on social media. She said the trailer was taken from a storage facility in the 3500 block of the Katy Freeway.

“It’s really hard because you guys know I specialize with kids that have a hard time with haircuts. The hair taxi has kind of been a safe place for them,” Miss Dee said on Instagram.

She said that she was taking her daughter to school on Monday and drove past the storage facility where the trailer is kept. Then, she noticed the vehicle wasn’t there.

She later went to the facility and could not find the trailer. Miss Dee said the front gate of the facility was broken, and she believes the vehicle’s fender fell off and was left near the gate.

“It just breaks my heart that someone took that from us,” Miss Dee said.

The trailer is black in color and has a cartoon photo of Miss Dee and a few children on it.

The business owner is trying to stay positive and she thanked people for their messages online.
