Man found shot to death inside vehicle in Fifth Ward

HOUSTON – A man was found shot to death inside of a vehicle in Fifth Ward in Houston on Sunday.

Police said the body was found in the 1800 block of Saint Elmo Street at a vacant lot around 9 a.m.

They said the vehicle had been illegally parked outside a home for almost two days before the body was discovered. Authorities said the man had a gunshot wound and paramedics later pronounced him dead.

A 2000s Mercury Grand Marquis vehicle with a black vinyl roof over the backseat was spotted leaving the scene on Saturday, but police said they do not have a description of a suspect.
