WALKER COUNTY, Texas – The Walker County Commissioner’s Court has ordered a burn ban be issued for the county.
The order prohibits outdoor burning in all unincorporated areas of Walker County, including the Sam Houston National Forest.

The order is in effect for the next 90 days or until the restrictions are terminated earlier based on a determination made by the Texas Forest Service or the commissioner’s court.
The order does allow for outdoor burning of household trash if it is in a barrel with a screen on top and the burning is attended to during the process.
Violation of the order is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
