Child transported to hospital after ‘accidentally’ being shot in foot at west Houston apartment complex
HOUSTON – A child has been transported to the hospital after an accidental shooting in west Houston Thursday afternoon.
Houston police responded to reports of a shooting at 13103 Ashford Point Drive around 5:18 p.m.
Officers said the child, who is a 4-year-old girl, was accidentally shot in the foot. The child is said to be in stable condition.
Investigators are working to determine how the child was shot.
Lt. Larry Crowson with HPD said they are getting conflicting statements on who was involved and where and how the shooting happened.
Several people are being held to talk to detectives. It is unknown if any charges will be filed at this time.
