8-year-old boy hit by vehicle while walking to school in north Harris County, Pct. 4 says

HOUSTON – An 8-year-old boy is being transported to the hospital after constable deputies with Precinct 4 said he was hit by a vehicle in north Harris County Thursday.

It happened in the 1100 block of North Vista Drive near Imperial Valley Dr.

According to Pct. 4 deputies, the child was walking to Booker Elementary School when he was hit.

Deputies said the child was transported to a local hospital by EMS with minor injuries.

Spring ISD has released the following statement:

This morning around 8:30 a.m., a Booker Elementary Student was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the street at the intersection of North Vista and Imperial Valley. Harris County Sheriff’s Officers first arrived at the scene to assist the student, who was coherent, until EMS arrived. Spring ISD Police Department assisted with additional investigative tasks to support the scene and the well-being of the injured student. The student was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in the Woodlands for minor abrasions, and the driver was given several citations for failure to yield. Our thoughts are with the student and their family as they deal with this difficult situation.
