Funeral arrangements released for HCSO deputy who died in crash involving 18-wheeler

HOUSTON – The funeral arrangements for the Harris County Sherriff’s Office deputy who was tragically killed in a crash have been released.

Deputy Robert Adam Howard, 27, died Wednesday after his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler.

Deputy Howard’s funeral will take place at the Community of Faith Church located at 16124 Becker Road in Hockley on May 18.

Family visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the service will begin at 11 a.m.

The burial location is still being determined.

Deputy Howard served with HCSO since 2019. He worked the evening shift in patrol District 5 in northwest Harris County, where he served in the Crime Reduction Unit.

In February, Deputy Howard transferred to the new Violent Gang Suppression Unit as a deputy investigator. The three-year agency veteran began his law enforcement career with the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office.

He is survived by his wife, 5-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter.
