Thieves with open warrants caught stealing building materials while in stolen vehicle, constable says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Two alleged crooks who already had warrants out for their arrests were caught stealing materials while traveling in a stolen vehicle, Constable Mark Herman’s Office said.

On Monday, a Precinct 4 deputy responded to the 5400 block of Camelon Street in reference to an in progress theft involving two suspects in a white van, stealing building materials.

Responding deputies observed the vehicle fleeing the scene and conducted a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Forest Hurst Drive.

The driver, identified by police as Rudy Gonzales, had an open warrant for felony possession of a controlled substance, and the passenger, Francisco Silva, had an open warrant for felony unauthorized use of motor vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that the van was stolen.

The stolen building materials were recovered.

“They were arrested and booked into the Harris County jail for the Felony Warrants. Rudy Gonzales was charged with theft and UUMV. Francisco Silvia was charged with theft. Their bonds and court information have not been set at this time,” Constable Mark Herman said.
