Hobby Airport evacuation renders no explosives after K-9 hits unattended bag, police say

Houston police were investigating a possible threat at William P. Hobby Airport Wednesday afternoon.

According to HPD, around 5 p.m., a K-9 unit had a hit for possible explosives in an unattended bag near the Alamo reservation counter near Carousel Three in the baggage claim area.

Police then established a 300-foot perimeter around the scene. The area was also evacuated for safety.

Flights were still landing and taking off, according to a Houston Airports representative.

HPD’s Bomb Squad said the scene was later cleared and no explosives were found.
