Homeowner shoots, kills truck burglar in southeast Houston, police say

HOUSTON – A man was shot to death after police said he was caught breaking into someone’s vehicle in southeast Houston Wednesday.

Police said the shooting happened at a home in the 800 block of Marleen Street around 8:30 p.m.

Investigators said the alleged burglar removed some things from the truck. That’s when the homeowner came out and shot him, according to police. Police said the man was struck once and died at the scene.

Investigators said a grand jury will determine if charges will be filed.
