Meth found in private day care after search warrant executed

KPNX – The simultaneous execution of seven search warrants across the Phoenix area Thursday netted a home that served not only as a methamphetamine stash location, but as a private in-home child day care.

The operation was "part of a long-term joint investigation into a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking organization responsible for the monthly distribution of hundred-pound quantities of meth across the U.S.," according to a news release from the DEA.

"During some of our surveillance we would see six and seven kids dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon," said DEA Special Agent in Charge Doug Coleman.

Agents say the drugs were not tough to find and could have been located by the kids. Neighbors were surprised by the bust.
