10 pounds of cocaine found in items at Bush IAH

U. S. Customs and Border Protection: cocaine hidden in household items

HOUSTON – A Guatemalan man was arrested at Bush Intercontinental Airport suspected of smuggling ten pounds of cocaine inside common household items.

Ebberson Rolando Maldonado Trejo, 36, was headed from Guatemala to New Jersey, when Houston customs officers grew suspicious of bottles of vinegar, olive oil, face wash and packages of refried beans in his luggage.

Testing determined cocaine was in those household items.

Rejo was taken into custody.

The amount of cocaine found is valued at more than $135,000.
