Investigators said they received a 911 call at about 9 a.m. Monday that LeBoeuf was at a house on County Line Road -- a violation of the protective order. Officials said they had received numerous domestic violence calls in the last few months involving LeBoeuf.

"It was because of the previous volatile calls concerning LeBoeuf that the responding deputy requested for another unit to respond to the call with him as backup," the Chambers County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Officials said that while trying to arrest LeBoeuf, he broke free and fled to his truck. Authorities said LeBoeuf was able to grab a handgun and fire several shots.

Deputies said they returned fire and LeBoeuf was pronounced dead at the scene.

No officers were seriously injured during the shooting, according to the Chambers County Sheriff's Office. The shooting remains under investigation.
