'Bandaged bandit' wanted in 2 bank robberies

HOUSTON – The FBI is searching for a man it has dubbed the "bandaged bandit."

Investigators believe the same man is responsible for two bank robberies in Houston.

The most recent robbery was at the Wells Fargo Bank in the 11700 block of South Sam Houston Parkway about 2:50 p.m. Thursday.

The man walked into the bank and handed the teller a threatening note demanding cash, officials said. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was described as white, 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall and 210 to 240 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, jeans, a black baseball cap, sunglasses and a white medical bandage that covered his left cheek and chin.

Detectives said the man is also suspected of robbing a Comerica Bank in the 9900 block of Almeda Genoa on Aug. 29.
