#VoteSpringer: Astros' George Springer in Final Fan Vote for All-Star Game

HOUSTON – George Springer needs your help, Astros fans.

The 'Stros are sending two representatives to the 2016 MLB All-Star Game, and Springer could be the third if fans go out and vote for him.

Springer is part of the American League Final Fan Vote in which fans vote for the final spot on each roster.

Jose Altuve and pitcher Will Harris will make the trip to San Diego for the Midsummer Classic on July 12. 

In the AL, Springer is up against Detroit's Ian Kinsler, Tampa Bay's Evan Longoria, Boston's Dustin Pedroia and Toronto's Michael Saunders.

Springer is batting .265 with 19 home runs, 50 RBI and 6 stolen bases.

Astros fans can still vote for George Springer to make the AL roster. He is one of five finalists for the AL Final Vote. Vote for Springer at Astros.com/Vote and by using #VoteSpringer hashtag on Twitter and by texting A5 to 89269. Voting ends Friday at 3 p.m. CT.

Altuve was voted in by baseball fans as the starting second baseman for the American League.

Harris was named as a reserve by AL manager Ned Yost of the World Series champion Kansas City Royals.

Altuve is leading MLB in batting with a .353 average and hits with 115. He's tied for second in the AL with 22 stolen bases.

Harris will make his All-Star Game debut.

Harris is 0-1 with 8 saves and 15 holds in 36.2 innings this season. He's given up only 3 runs, and has struck out 36 batters while walking only 6.

Royals catcher Salvador Perez was the leading vote-getter for all of MLB.

New York Mets skipper Terry Collins will manage the NL squad.

The AL has won the last three All-Star games.
