Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins graces regional Sports Illustrated cover

HOUSTON – DeAndre Hopkins is featured on the cover of a new regional issue of Sports Illustrated.

As Texans fans are gearing up for the first regular season game Sunday, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has given them another reason to get fired up for their home team.

Hopkins is being featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated regional cover as one of the rising stars of the NFL.

Sports Illustrated will feature three other NFL players in other regions to kick off the start of regular season this week.

Writer Greg Bedard describes Hopkins and the other featured players as becoming the best at their positions by taking advantage of the changes in the game. The headline includes the line, “The Next Wave: The New Game Changers Are Here.”

Hopkins is in his fourth season with the Texans and has achieved many accolades, including third in the league in catches last season. He is the only Texans player besides J.J. Watt to be featured on the cover of the magazine since David Carr in 2002.

The University of Houston Cougar football team is also featured in the issue, highlighting their preparation before their big win over the University of Oklahoma.

The Hopkins cover will be distributed in all of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana.

The players who will be featured in other regions alongside Hopkins are Packers defensive end Mike Daniels, Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, and Panthers guard Trai Turner.
