BEIJING – Houston Rockets point guard Bobby Brown is apologizing after he left his signature on the Great Wall of China.
Brown and the Rockets have been in Beijing for preseason games.

According to a Chinese news agency, when Brown visited the Great Wall of China two days before their game against the New Orleans Pelicans, he left his name and jersey number on the bricks of the wall. Brown took a photo and shared it on social network Weibo, China's equivalent to Twitter.
"Had a blast at the Great Wall of China today," Brown wrote in the post, which has since been deleted.

People in China were not happy about the graffiti, which caused an uproar on social media.
Brown apologized on his Weibo account on Tuesday.
"I'm so sorry for this!! I apologize I didn't mean any harm by this, I respect the Chinese culture I made a honest mistake...hope you forgive me," Brown wrote.
Article 18 of the Regulation on the Protection of the Great Wall states that marking the Great Wall of China with graffiti is prohibited.
