Watt a year: J.J Watt Year End Review

No description found

HOUSTON – 2015 was a big year in Houston sports. The Houston Rockets had a good run in the postseason before falling to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference finals, and the Houston Astros surprised many people after their big season, making the playoffs for the first time in 10 years. The Houston Texans haven't had a spectacular season, but one thing we do know is that it has been quite a year for J.J. Watt.

From all the awards, new commercials and magazine covers, to dating rumors and celebrity encounters, Watt has made headlines for just about everything. KPRC 2 had a little fun with the fact that Watt has been everywhere by putting together a fun video for Halloween titled, "Did JJ Watt clone himself?" Watch it here.

KPRC 2 looked through the news story archives in search of all of the stories we've covered on Watt. We found more than 50 stories for this year.

Many of the stories highlighted his kindness and big presence in the Houston community. One heartwarming story in particular was when KPRC 2's Keith Garvin met with stroke victim Nicole Alexander. Alexander told Garvin that when she is able to walk, she wanted to walk on the field at NRG Stadium and hug Watt.

KPRC 2 helped to make that happen. See the story here.

Watt also has a way of making stories go viral. During training camp, 5-year-old Sylvie Rose got a rare chance to give Watt a kiss on the cheek. The adorable moment was caught on camera, and the story went viral. Read it  here.

Watt demonstrated his superhuman strength before the Texans' preseason opener in August when he played catch with a fan at the top of the stands. Watt threw the ball far - really, really far. Our sports photographer captured it on video, which of course, went viral. The video was shared nearly 5,000 times on the KPRC 2 Facebook page.

Watt has also won several AFC defensive awards this season, which is not a surprise. He was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for December after he recorded an NFL-best 7.5 sacks, 26 quarterback hits and nine tackles for loss in the month.

TEXANS UPDATE: It is not breaking news that Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt has superhuman strength, but it doesn't make it any less impressive. While he may not be the team's answer at quarterback, he definitely has no trouble showcasing his arm strength. MORE ---> http://bit.ly/1flMrXb
