Magician Ben Jackson stuns Derrick and Tessa with live card trick

Houston – In 2010, Houston magician Ben Jackson became one of the youngest magicians to win first place at the World Magic Seminar’s International Close-up Magic Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Now, he’s built up a reputation in Houston and nationwide. His talents took him to Las Vegas to be part of ‘Penn & Teller: Fool Us!’

The show, now in its 10th season is a magic competition. After each performance, if Penn & Teller cannot figure out how a trick was done, the magician wins a coveted Fool Us trophy and a 5-star trip to Las Vegas to perform as the opening act in Penn & Teller’s show, also at the Rio Hotel & Casino.

Last August, Ben created a new routine involving 20 yarn balls, Greek mythology, and expert sleight-of-hand carefully choreographed to fool Penn and Teller.

After his routine, Penn and Teller deliberated but they were not fooled. Ben conceded and left the stage. It wasn’t until the commercial break that the trio got together to talk about the trick. As Ben was walking them through it, Penn and Teller realized their initial guess was wrong, and they reversed the call. It was the first in the show’s history!

Jackson has since made his way back to the Bayou City to continue his monthly run at The Four Seasons Hotel. Jackson’s show Magic, Music, & Mayhem is currently in its 8th year and is the #1 show in Houston on TripAdvisor. The 90-minute show offers cocktails, sleight-of-hand, theatrical mind-reading, and a lot of laughs. With guests capped off at 60, the experience is up close and personal.

You can catch Magic, Music, & Mayhem this Memorial Day weekend. Find tickets on his website here.
