Astros claim RHP Penn Murfee off waivers, move Kendall Graveman to 60-day injured list

HOUSTON – The Houston Astros announced Wednesday they claimed right-handed reliever Penn Murfee off waivers and moved right-handed reliever Kendall Graveman to the 60-day injured list, clearing a 40-man roster spot for Murfee.

Murfee has a career 2.70 ERA in 80 appearances for the Seattle Mariners in 2022 and 2023. He’s coming off an elbow procedure in June of 2023.

The Braves released Murfee earlier this offseason, and he should be ready at some point mid-season.
